A Doctor's Apathy

As Told By: Liz

I am a 51 year old woman. I woke up one morning about two years ago with pain in my arm. By the next day, I couldn’t move it. I went to my chiropractor and he treated me for about a month with no luck. He told me I needed to go see my doctor and that there was something deeper going on, so I went, even though I didn’t have a Premiere Care doctor.

I ended up going to a doctor I had never seen at a new medical clinic. I went in with all my info, x-rays and everything and this doctor told me right off that he did not read x-rays. He did not even look at all my reports. He told me that he didn’t know me and he would not give me anything for my pain until he did know me. He also told me that, as far as he knew, I could be a druggie, and then he proceeded to drill me like he was a police officer instead of a doctor. He then told me that he’d give me a cocktail shot, and I asked what that was because I have to be careful with medicines, since some work the opposite on me. The info was also in my reports - the ones he did not check.

Later that night, I flipped out, and my husband told me never to go back there again. I went to another doctor at the same clinic. He started out better and found out I had two herniated discs in my neck, one inward and one outward, and TOS with nerve damage. Then this doctor tells me that, until I get medical or health insurance, he cannot do anything for me.

So I get insurance, and he sets up all these tests and says to come back in three weeks and we will go from there after a nerve conduction test and an MRI. I came back to find he has moved to Hawaii and has not followed up on anything. So here I am, two years later with the same problem. Please help if you can because I am at the end of my rope, and thank you for hearing my story.
